Your contact for this grid project
Overview
This project has been designed to expand and/or replace the existing 150 kilovolt line between the Obfelden and Samstagern substation with a 380 kilovolt line. The grid project will permanently improve the supply of energy to the consumer centres in the city of Zurich and the Thalwil region. The project will permit redundant connection of the planned Thalwil and Waldegg 220 kilovolt substations. The commissioning date depends on the construction permits for the individual sections.
Project
Schweikrüti (pylon 46) – Kilchberg section
The Federal Supreme Court has referred the planning approval procedure for the Schweikrüti-Kilchberg section back to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). A cable study was ordered with the judgement as well as a review of line bundling of Swissgrid's 380/220-kilovolt line as well as the SBB's 132-kilovolt railway power line.
Kilchberg – Frohalp section
The Swiss Federal Office of Energy has decided that, for the Kilchberg-Frohalp section, no sectoral plan process has to be subsequently conducted. The project is currently being further developed in the construction project. The planning approval dossier for submission to the Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations (ESTI) is being prepared.
Frohalp – Waldegg section
The Federal Council has defined the planning corridor for implementing an underground cable version in the sectoral plan process. The planning approval dossier is currently being prepared.
